The Announcements module displays a list of announcements. Each announcement includes a title and a rich text description. Announcements are ordered by their publish date by default, however view order can be specified. With each announcement that you add, you can enable a "read more" link that points to another page on your site, another site, or a file on your site.
Lots of people like to use the announcements module on their home page so that site visitors can have an easy way to see what's coming up and can even click to get more information.
